Don’t forget that you still have time to order your copies of the first two books in the series, ‘Till the Last Petal Falls and To Dwell in Dreams before this one is released! As an installment series it’s not necessary to read Once Upon a Reality in order- but the characters of all the books are connected in some way, and adds to the reading of each consecutive book. I can’t wait to share this one with you!

Getting Closer: A Month Out!

As of today, we are one month exactly out from the release of my next novel, The Thing About Apples. Funny how those things creep up on you, isn’t it? In the next couple of weeks we will be working on the final touch ups, getting everything formatted correctly, and (my favorite part) finalizing the cover image.

It’s been hitting me randomly throughout the past couple of weeks, in between the house improvements and wedding planning, that my third novel is almost published. That I will have three novels under my belt before the age of 24. Before legally changing my name. Before having kids. Things I had never really imagined happening, if we’re going to be totally honest. I might not be the most prolific, or most talented or even sell the most copies. But it’s a start, and I fully intend to keep on building up and out on that.

That being said: now is the time to contact me if you’d like to host a week of my blog tour, occurring shortly after the release of the book. If you’d like to see me do a physical release party in Colorado, I’m also up for that. If you know of any bloggers looking for more books to review, I will have some review copies on hand for those purposes. I’ll be having at least one semi-private release party and am working on more events as we go forward. Essentially, if you have an idea on how to get this latest novel out into the hands of more readers, I’m all ears.

For the next month I’m going to be buckling down regarding The Thing About Apple’s release- so wish me luck, send me some good vibes and lift up your prayers. I can’t wait to share this with all of you!

It Begins: The Edits!

It seems like 2016 is going by in such a blur- I finish one set of tasks, only to realize that I’m about a month behind on the next ones and then I remember a totally different thing that I was supposed to do. I sure hope it begins to slow down a bit, or I’m going to have to finagle a bunch in order to truly savor some of the bigger moments this year. Like the release of The Thing About Apples happening in early July. At this point, that puts me less than two months away from having three novels published. Isn’t that crazy?

And so begins the buckling down towards the release. This past week I received the suggested edits from the wonderful people over at eLectio, and have been working on them over the weekend. I’ve got to tell you- I’m so grateful for the editors over there. I always feel like I’ve made something so precious when I hand in a final manuscript. But when they tear it to pieces, I realize that I could always push myself more. That it can always get better. And that’s what I want, book by book: to become a better writer, to be able to provide better stories that mean more to my readers each time. I really couldn’t do that without the help of eLectio, and all of the beta readers who took The Thing About Apples apart in the earlier drafting stages. They are just as responsible for the novel as I am, honestly, and I would have never gotten this far without them.

So today’s post is dedicated to gratitude: gratitude for all of the people who help me realize my dream and may never get recognized for it. For my parents, who supported me. For my fiance, who loves me even when I get into my crazy-stages of preparing the next novel. For my WeBook community and beta readers who help me shape the drafts past the messy draft stages, and for eLectio for believing in me and taking me to the next steps. I can’t wait to see what you guys think of this next installment!
